Blowups And Backlash Tour

B&B logo

We are excited to host our first fishing tournament, we are still ironing out some of the fine details and any input or feedback would be appreciated. The dates for the first Blowups and Backlash tournament will be Sunday May 26th – Saturday June 1st If you wish to participate you must be entered Friday May 24th by the end of the day. We are changing a $25 entry fee, The platform we are using to host the tournament is FishDonkey, FishDonkey might charge a small processing fee on top of our entry fee. This tournament will be split into 2 regions, North and South. The split will help increase everyone’s chances of winning since there will be less competition and help even the field since fishing conditions can vary so greatly.

Prizes

We are still working out exactly what the prize pool will be and it will largely depend on what the turnout for the event is. we would love to offer $300 grand prizes with $150 for second, however if only 3 people sign up that will leave the boys and i footing an expensive bill. So the initial prize pool is going to look small but as turnout increases we will update the prize pool, we hope turnout is good because we really want to make this something special.

  • First Place – $200
  • Second Place – $100
  • Third Place – Entry fee refunded (including Fish Donkey fees)
  • Largest fish – A surprise item from one of our favorite small businesses on Instagram

These prizes are assuming a minimum of 10 entries per region, if less then 5 entries per region entire entry fee will be refunded. with more entries the prizes will increase

Requirements and Rules

We want to make this Tournament accessible to as many people as possible, however we still need to make this as fair as possible you will be required to have a Measuring board and a device capable of running the Fish Donkey app (most if not all smartphones). you will be required to submit a picture of the fish on the measuring board, a picture of you holding the fish (selfies are fine) and a video of you releasing the fish. if you sign up for the fish donkey app you can join a practice tournament to get the feel for this, it sounds more complicated then it is.

You can fish from shore, kayak, boat, however you want, all fish must be caught with a hook and line, foul hooks are not permitted. Any body of water is allowed as long as the body of water has at least 1 public access point. If you have any questions on if a body of water is considered public feel free to reach out to us and we will be happy to help you in determining that.

We are not requiring catch boards, however we highly recommend them, we will allow and approve pictures with a tape measure that show the length of the fish clearly and not altered to look larger. using a tape measure may result in points deduction if the size is not clear in the picture submitted.

Determining the winner

The winner will be determined based on the largest 5 Black Bass by length, The leader boards on the Fish Donkey app will be updated live as catches get approved by admins.

Why Are We Hosting This ?

There is a number of reasons we are hosting this tournament, I got the idea when i was looking into online Tournaments and the options i could find weren’t exactly what i was looking for and i figured if i’m looking others probably are too. We also want to raise money for a few different reasons, We want to get more camera and recording supplies so we can create better content people will enjoy more. Another reason is we know a few young kids getting into fishing and want to use some of the proceeds from the tournament to surprise them with some gear. Overall we think this can help bring the fishing community closer together and help build a better stronger community.
