About Blowups and Backlash
The name
The best and the worst parts of fishing. A blowup is a fish exploding on a topwater lure, the moment you'll be replaying all week. A backlash is the nest of line your baitcaster hands you instead. Fish long enough and you'll get both on the same trip.
How it started
We've all been fishing since we were kids, and none of us ever grew out of it. All that time outside left us with a real respect for the outdoors and for nature.
The crew
JT and friends, basically. JT started it; Colin, Mac, Kerry and James are the rest of the crew. Or, as the Instagram bio puts it: just a few dudes, mostly fishing Region 3 in New York. That's the Hudson Valley.
What we fish for
Bass, mostly. The tagline is Frog Fishing Fanatics, after all. Ice fishing is a newer thing for us.
